I’ve almost completely revamped the book list four times, and am always looking for new readings: One of the difficulties is simply the impossibility of “covering” an anthropology of Latin America and the Caribbean, which involves thousands of years of history, hundreds of languages, and a great diversity of populations. NED supported Cuban activists and human rights defenders to present cases of violations of human and civil rights before the United Nations and Inter-American Commission of Human Rights, and to participate in trainings to improve their capacity to document cases and share experiences with counterparts.
